Help us welcome the Ska Brewing Co. of Colorado

posted by Rob Weislocher on June 24, 2010

We recently picked up a couple of great domestic craft beers from the Ska Brewing Company in Durango, Colorado. We are always looking for new craft brewers to feature, and can't say enough good things about Ska Brewing.

The True Blonde Ale is a great summer beer that has a light to medium body and decent carbonation that tastes great during these Ozarks heatwaves. The True Blonde Ale is well crafted and is a great representation of this style of beer. Brewed with just a touch of locally produced honey, it is smooth and creamy with hints of grains and a subtle citrusy crispness.

The second beer we brought in from Ska Brewing is the Modus Hoperandi IPA. If you are a frequent MudLounge beer customer then you already know we flip over good IPAs. The Modus Hoperandi won't disappoint the IPA lover. It is impossible to ignore the big, not very subtle hops overload in this beer. As expected, there isn't much of a malt backbone to balance the hop attack of this IPA, but I find that most of my favorite IPAs are light on the malts and not overly balanced. GIVE ME THE HOPS!! But at the same time, this beer is crisp and refreshing with a long, bitter finish. Pure love here baby.

So,next time you are in, try one of these new selections. I am telling you, you will be glad you did.
