TANZANIAN PEABERRY

Harvested on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan border, these unique peaberry beans occur when the coffee cherry develops one bean instead of the normal two. This created a rounder, smaller bean. Peaberries seem to have a certain heightened focus and brilliance. A zest if you like. This is a lively coffee of fruity after-tones and a vibrant acidity that almost dances on the palate.

Kenya Peaberry

Peaberry beans occur naturally when only one bean inside the coffee cherry is fertilized, instead of the normal two. This makes the Peaberry bean rounder allowing it to roast more evenly than some other beans. It has a lighter body than the Kenya AA, with a sharper more winey flavor. Try this coffee if you enjoy the pleasant sharpness of African coffees and desire more of a fruity, winey flavor.
